Paydown Mill (Historical Buidling) and Mill Spring Branch are located on the right side of Highway 42 approximately 7 miles from Belle.
The Paydown Mill is a 20’x45′ frame mill 2.5 stories in stature and is located on a branch of Mill Creek, which in turn flows into the Gasconade River about 3,000 feet downstream.
A foundation of limestone rounds out the external features made very photogenic by the fact that this siding is naturally weathered board. Roadside sheds and a small stone building which was former salve quarters are located on the opposite side of Highway 42.
